Danny is an enrolled member of the Muscogee Creek Nation and a member of the Alabama Quassarte Tribal Town. He frequently attends traditional ceremonies and observes cultural teachings. Danny is fluent in his traditional language as well. He currently lives in Beggs with his wife, Linda, and two children, Peyton and Kasi. His daughter Emily lives in Alabama.
Danny began his law enforcement career in 1999 when he joined the Orange Beach Police Department in Alabama. He attended the Jacksonville Police Academy in Jacksonville, Alabama. While working there, he served as the jail administrator and a reserve police officer. Due to the area wildlife, he received additional training to handle and catch snakes and alligators.
In 2001, Danny went to work for the Fairhope Police Department as the supervisor of the newly opened jail. He also served as a reserve officer for the department. During his employment with FHPD, he became the youngest board member of the Alabama Jail Association at the age of 24. He was then given responsibility for three county jails, ensuring the safety of employees and inmates. Danny was certified in hostage negotiation and utilized his training with the FHPD. He also had the additional duty of providing bodyguard services for celebrities while working for Fairhope, one of which was documented on the cover of Sports Illustrated with Nick Saban.
While working in Alabama, Danny worked through several hurricanes. His duties included providing flooding assistance and conducting water searches. He received the Presidential Award for his service during Hurricane Katrina.
Danny returned to Oklahoma in 2009, where he became an officer for the Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse Police Department. During his 14 years with them, he held many titles. He worked with the Youth Explorer Program as the cultural advisor for many years. Danny also served as the Hostage Negotiator for the LHPD. He was appointed over the sex offender registration program, where he created and implemented new policies and procedures for the department. He also worked with the U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Task Force. He later transferred to the Child Support Enforcement Office, where he served as an investigator. During his last five years with the Muscogee Creek Nation, he was over the Capitol Patrol, including serving as Chief Hill’s protection detail. He retired in 2023 to pursue his business, Iron Horse Security.
